Guests of Grace

Visiting Grace

Welcome to Grace Baptist Church.  We're glad that you're interested in visiting our church. All ages are represented here, as children and young families mingle with teens, college students as well as seniors.   As you get to know us, you'll find that we want to teach the gospel of Jesus Christ and bring glory to God in everything we do.

Take some time to read about what we believe, our ministries and what to expect when you visit.   We invite you to join us at one of our Sunday services for starters.  We hope you'll get to know us and consider making us your church family.

When do I come?

  • Worship services begin Sunday mornings at 9:30 and 11:00.  Plan to arrive at least 15 minutes prior.   There will be greeters at the main door to welcome you and direct you to our Welcome Center, cafe and auditorium.  If you prefer a Bible class they can show you where you can find the class that's right for you, and for your children.  This is an opportunity to learn about God's Word in an informal setting.  Ushers are also available in the auditorium to help you find a seat.
  • Our cafe is open with free coffee, tea and hot chocolate at 9:00 and between 10:30 and 11:00.
  • Sunday evenings we have an informal prayer and Bible study time beginning at 6:00 for the adults.  Teens have their own worship time led by their own band and then study time.  Childrens programs are also available and vary throughout the year.

What is the worship service like?

  • Our morning service begins with a welcome, prayer and then music.  We enjoy a variety of syles of music so there is a blend of traditional hymns and contemporary worship songs but always our intent is to glorify God and to help us focus our minds on the message from God's Word.   There is also usually special music presented by a soloist, choir, or other music ensemble.
  • The pastor teaches directly from God's Word, often working through a book of the Bible over several weeks.  The sermon lasts about 30 minutes and always includes practical applications to our lives.
  • During our service we receive an offering as well as response cards on which you can request information or let us know what you thought of the service.

What do I bring?

  • If you have a Bible, that's all you need to bring with you.  The pastor always teaches directly from the Bible so it helps you to follow along if you have one.  If you don't have a Bible that's okay.  We often project the passages onto our screens, and Bibles can also be found in racks under the seats.

What do I wear?

  • While some people do wear their 'Sunday best", most people wear casual, comfortable clothes.  It's what's on the inside that counts!

What do my kids do?

  • We offer both an infant and a toddler nursery.  We ask that you sign in and give us any specific information that will help us care for your child.  We also have a pager system, so you can take a pager with you in case we have any questions.  For more information about our nursery click here.
  • During our 9:30 service we have classes for children ages 2 years and up.  The greeters can help direct you to the right age group.
  • During our11:00 worship service our children from Preschool through the 5th grade have their own worship hour.    A Bible lesson is given that is appropriate for either younger or older children's understanding in the children's auditorium
  • If you plan to have your children attend both we ask that you pick your children up in their classroom at 10:30 and take them back to the children's auditorium just prior to the 11:00 service.  Our cafe will have 'kid-friendly' snacks and our library will be open to enjoy.
